Extruded plastic profiles are produced by an extruder, nozzle head with internal chamber, cooling and dimensioning devices, draw-off arrangement, and regulator. The material builds up pressure in the chamber and the regulator operates by measuring the difference between actual and nominal values and adjusting accordingly the draw-off arrangement. The extrudate passes under pressure to the cooling/dimensioning devices which are attached to the extruding head, its pressure is measured in the chamber and compared with a value which is low enough to prevent a wedge effect in the cooling/dimensioning system. Prodn. to very fine tolerances is achieved even with complicated sections. |
