The cables may have insulated cores or they may be insulated cores. They are used as H.F. communications cables and coupling of the cables is achieved by a coupling capacitor and matching transformer at the cable potential. A coupling capacitor (CK) is used. It is inserted between the transformer (U1) and a filter (FA). The filter is usually provided at the cable or communications equipment. The cable capacitance to earth and the earth are used as return conductor.
