PURPOSE:To obtain the subject nonwoven fabric, having both excellent stretchability and high tenacity and suitable as wadding for sports clothes, gloves, shoes, boots, cushions or mats by containing two specific kinds of fibers accounting for the principal component of the constituent fibers and integrating interstices between the afore-mentioned constituent fibers by heat fusion. CONSTITUTION:The objective nonwoven fabric, containing (A) 5-40wt.% latently crimpable heat-fusible conjugate fiber, consisting of a low-melting resin component (e.g. high-density PE or ethylene-propylene-butene-1 terpolymer) having the melting point (Tm deg.C) of 100<Tm<150 and a high-melting resin component (e.g. polybutylene terephthalate or PP) having the melting point of 150<=Tm<300 and capable of developing crimps at the melting temperature of the low-melting resin component and (B) 60-95wt.% latently crimpable fiber capable of developing crimps at a thermal processing temperature (T deg.C) of 120<=T<180, the above- mentioned fibers accounting for >=85wt.% of the constituent fibers and integrated by thermal fusion of interstices between the aforementioned constituent fibers. |
