Dynamic balancing method for crankshafts - has balance masses provided with excess material to be machined off

The method of dynamic balancing of crankshaft uses balance masses with excess material in at least two balance planes (3) perpendicular to the axes of these masses. The excess material is so arranged that the resultant of all forseable out-of-balance forces lies within the volume of the balance masses. Pref. the masses are those at the respective ends of a crankshaft and those extending in the same radial direction. On balancing, the excess material is removed by machining. Only a single machining operation per balancing operation is necessary.
