PURPOSE:To suppress the gloss of images by specifying the relation between the thickness and surface roughness of the base layer of the image forming member. CONSTITUTION:The image forming member 1 is formed of the base layer consisting of, for example, a polyester film and is so formed that the relation of the equation holds between the thickness (d) thereof and the surface roughness Ra thereof. This member 1 is brought into contact with conductive powder 13 held by a conductive sleeve 12. The bias voltages corresponding to image signals are applied to an electrode head 15 provided in the position opposite to the powder 13 and the charge of the reverse polarity is simultaneously implanted to the powder 13 of the corresponding point to stick the powder 13 onto the member 1. The above-mentioned powder 13 is heated and pressurized by rollers 19, 20 in succession thereto and is transferred onto a recording medium 21, by which the images are formed on the medium 21. |
