Weather balloon modulated information transmission - uses temp. pressure, and humidity information relayed as single PCM signal and uses ground station with simple digital demodulator

A weather probe balloon includes a pulse modulating transmitter for relaying information regarding temp., pressure and humidity to a ground station. The output frequency (3) of an oscillator (2) is directly proportional to the temp. monitored by a thermistor (1). A second oscillator produces an output (7) dependent upon measured values (4, 5) of pressure and humidity. The signals are summed (8) to produce a modulated output (9) for transmission (10) to ground. The ground station includes simple digital demodulating circuitry.
