The double arm hinge has a spring, inducing a door closing moment. One hinge arm is formed in two parts. A spring-loaded roller acts against a segmented surface secured to one part of the arm. The opposite end of the spring from the roller is anchored on the other part of the arm. The spring tends to bring the two arm sections into axial alignment. The second hinge arm has a pivot on one part of the first hinge arm, and has a sliding location on the static hinge body. The design eliminates the need to accommodate a spring in the hinge housing, thus saving space.
