1522177 Feeding toner to xerographic developer XEROX CORP 21 Oct 1975 [20 Nov 1974 (2)] 43094/75 Heading B2L [Also in Division B8] A toner dispenser for a xerographic development system comprises a hopper 91, 101, 102 a rotatable dispensing roll 92 journalled in the hopper, and a reservoir 49b for toner removably mounted on the hopper, the hopper being adapted for pivotal mounting on the development system so that the reservoir may be inverted and reinverted. For example, a hinge 98 permits the hopper and reservoir to move to the dotted-line position shown, whereby an empty reservoir may be slid laterally from engagement with the hopper and replaced by a full one which is open-end-up. Toner falls from hopper opening 93 into cross-mixer 65, and thence to sump 63, whence it is carried by magnetic brushes 86, 85, 51, 52, 53 and 54 in a serpentine path to contact an image on drum 13 at developing station 14; toner recycles via shoot 68 to cross-mixer 65, some of it passing to a monitoring device 64; excess toner which is cleaned from drum 13 may be collected in a reservoir 49a (Fig. 1, not shown) which can later replace reservoir 49b. |
