The ceramic recuperative heat transfer unit has a number of chambers arranged in a row and with inlet and outlet ports, while other chambers sharing walls with them have the other medium flowing through them. There are a number of parallel flow passages (1, 2) forming one set of chambers arranged in a ceramic body with closed front faces (3, 4) between walls (8a-d, 9a-d) covering the passage. The latter are so arranged in pairs that each protrudes in one direction beyond the other in the pair towards a covering wall for its entire length. To form the inlet and outlet ports for the other set of chambers (5, 6), parts of the covering walls are removed so as to uncover the protruding portions of the passages of the first set.
|
