<p>The invention relates to a process for the low distortion hardening of crankshafts by sequential electroinductive heating of the lifting and main bearing surfaces and subsequent quenching. A characteristic of the invention is that all lifting bearings are hardened using only two inductors, in each case two lifting bearing surfaces which are symmetrical with respect to the axial centre being simultaneously hardened.
