The open fireplace, located in the corner of a room, and with a canopy over the top, extending into the room, is easily converted into a slow burning enclosed stove, e.g. for all night heating. Two panels (5, 7) hinged together down one common edge can be moved from a folded position besides the fireplace (3) to a position enclosing its two open sides, thus completely enclosing it. The folded panels fit into a recess alongside the fireplace, and the outer panel carries a latch (10) which engages on anchorage (11) at the far side of the fireplace when unfolded. This panel incorporates a draught control flap. The hinges (8) are designed to form a seal at the corner when unfolded.
|
