A beet harvester for working six rows has two collector wheels mounted directly behind plough shaves (2) to receive the pulled up beets. The wheels are driven in opposite directions. Each wheel is a rotating circular grille having a flat hub portion (3) carried by a driven shaft (4). Radial tines (5) are welded to and extend from the hub, their outer ends being curved rearwardly. The hub has four equi-spaced mountings for removable tines (6). The outer ends of tines (6) are welded to a keeper ring (6). Soil can fall freely between the tines and the ring protects the beet from damage by the free ends of the tines.
