<p>Cupboard comprises two identical halves (1, 2) hinged together so that they can be swivelled open at 180 deg. into a common plane. The cupboard halves can be secured in both their open position and their closed position by a tension spring (30) which is mounted on the locally fixed cupboard half (1) by means of a retaining pin (31). The end of one arm (34) of a U-shaped bracket (34, 35, 36) which engages over the hinge axis (12, 13) in the open position is secured to the free end of the tension spring whilst the other arm (36) is mounted at its end for rotation about a further pin (37) which is provided on the swivel half (2) of the cupboard. Thus in the closed position the spring draws the swivel cupboard half against the locally fixed cupboard half but in the open position it acts in the reverse direction.</p> |
