The receiver for AC pulses representing characters, has a capacitive divider with continuously adjustabl division which is supplied with roughly rectangular AC voltage pulses from a pulse evaluation stage. The divider terminates in an amplifier whose output circuit contains an RC circuit which is connected before the receiver output threshold stage. The advantage lies in the receiver converting distorted pulses into ones having the correct length.
