Electric motor driven controlled hydraulic drive - has housing with rotor and pumping system with control system

The drive has a housing with a circular chamber enclosing a circular rotor. The rotor has on its circumference pockets charged with pressurised liquid, supplied by a motor driven pump. The rotor shaft drives a drive outside the housing. The system consists of hydraulic motor and pump driven by d.c. motor. The housing (16) is arranged directly above the hydraulic liquid storage vessel (70). Hydraulic liq. is returned from housing sump to storage vessel so that a closed circuit is formed for hydraulic liq. flow. The pumps draws liq. from this storage vessel which is pumped into the housing where it is directed to the rotor pockets.
