<p>The feeler for the knife which cuts off the tops of sugar beet, consists of an inclined belt or chain, which travels in the direction of movement of the harvester. The feeling component consists of a feeler wheel in front of which is a deflector or tension wheel. The distance between the deflector wheel and the ground can be adjusted. A profiled tube is fixed in front of the feeler wheel to an attachment rail. The profiled tube is telescopic, consisting of inner and outer tubes with a compression spring.</p> |
