A cervical traction device comprises a collar 1 having a bottom portion 2 for resting on the shoulders, a top providing rests 4,5 for the chin and back of the head, and an inflatable air tube 7 along the bottom edge, which tube when inflated produces with the collar a force between the shoulders and the head. The collar is made of synthetic resin. The tube 7 is inflated by a hand pump 9 through a valve 11. The tube may be formed in two substantially semicircular sections (7a, 7b) (Fig. 4, not shown) inflated independently for treating wry neck conditions. Inflatable tubes may also be located in the rests for the chin and back of the head (Figs. 5 and 6, not shown) or in the region of the back of the neck (Figs. 7 and 8, not shown).
