Printing and dyeing of aromatic polyester fibre materials

The monoazo dyestuff of the formula is used to dye or print fibrous materials of aromatic polyethers. It may be obtained by diazotization of p-toluidine followed by coupling to the appropriate napthoylanilide.ALSO:Fibrous materials of aromatic polyesters are dyed or printed with the dye of the formula:- The dyeing may take place at 80 - 110 DEG C in the presence of carriers of at 110 - 140 DEG C. without carriers or by the thermofixation process at about 200 DEG C which process is also suitable for printing. Examples are given.
