<p>Bolting pellets for bolting of rocks, esp. in mining consist of a casing permeable to water or aq. solns. and a filling consisting of an inorganic or organic settable binder. Pref the casing material consists of paper, fabrics, plastics, glass, glass fibre or porous metal lattices. Pref. the settable binder consists of cement, limestone, gypsum, anhydrite with a sulphate activator. To set the binder the cartridges are immersed in water or an aq. soln. contg. an activator or accelerator. The cartridges are then introduced into the hole bottom and the holding bolt is introduced into the pellet before hardening. In mining, this technique provides a safe and economical means to bolt drill holes.</p> |
