Fading compensator circuit for radio receiver - delays automatic volume control by comparing contents of counter and memory

The fading compensator, for radio receivers, delays automatic volume control to compensate for signal fading. Its control signal is stored digitally in a counter. In addition to the counter it also contains a memory whose contents correspond to a wanted counter count. The counter count and the memory contents are compared in a comparator whose output blocks the counter clock input when the count is equal to the contents.
