<p>The helical pump for liquids has a pumping screw positioned inside a cylindrical pipe. The individual spiral surfaces are inclined at an angle of 20 deg.-40 deg. in relation to the longitudinal axis of the pipe, the outer edge of the spiral being welded to the pipe. At the inlet of the pump, the helical blade pref. projects from the tube for at least half a turn of the spiral. The outlet end of the screw is pref. tapered so that it ends flush with the pipe. The outlet of the pipe pref. has a splash shield.</p> |
