A packaging container is produced from a rigid, grooved mantle section of carton or corrugated paper, enclosed in a synthetic film which forms a rectangular or polygonal tube open of both ends. The end edges of the mantle and film are turned over inwards, and a rigid end cover is pushed in and trapped by the tuned over edges so that it cannot be extracted easily. The film lies closely against the container mantle and is closed at one end to protect at least the inner surface of the end cover. Pref. the film is elastically stretchable, or it may be shrinkable. The end cover may have a double corrugation or it may be a plastic moulding provided with locking and protective flanges for the end of the container. The container is simply assembled from corrugated paper and synthetic film. It is neat, impermeable, stable and cheap. |
