1521255 Rotatable screen HAWKER SIDDELEY BRACKETT Ltd 14 Aug 1975 [15 Aug 1974] 36006/74 Heading B1D A rotatable, outward-flow drum screen has a wall thickness greater or equal to the diameter of the screening perforations therein (e.g. 6 mm) and is rotated at 60-100 feet/ minute peripheral speed, thereby preventing 'hairpinning' by fibres in slurry being screened. The drum comprises a cylindrical frame with screen plates mounted thereon and is open at one end for inlet of slurry. Backwashing means above the slurry level wash retained solids into a hopper. Screen plates are made of ABS or PVC plastics and perforations are drilled therein to ensure smooth bores.
