A yellow color forming photographic coupler represented by the following general formula (I) <IMAGE> (I) in which X represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group; Y represents a hydrogen atom or a coupling off group; R1 and R2 each represents an aliphatic group, or R1 and R2 can combine to form a ring; and R3 and R4 each represents a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group.
