The tunnel has closed circuit air conditioning, and mobile storage units of prod. progress through the tunnel on trolley platforms.The air-conditioning system comprises an under floor air supply duct and a return flow passage above a perforated false ceiling. The underfloor duct is bridges by open-work grill plates.The trolley platforms pref. run on rails extending through the tunnel's axial corridor. The cross-section of the tunnel is pref. semi-circular or nearly so.Used for drying meat and meat prods. on an industrial scale. Controlled drying in hygienic conditions. Mechanised handling and movement of prod. loads to reduce labour requirements. Recycling of conditioning air for thermal economy.
