TITLE: SOLID STATE ALTERNATING CURRENT SWITCHING DEVICE A solid state alternating current switching device is described having a pair of series connected triacs in which the individual breakover voltages of the triacs are less than the peak line voltage and the sum of the individual breakover voltages is greater than the peak line voltage. An isolated circuit directly interconnects the gate terminals of the triacs to selectively bleed an internal triac gate current through the circuit to trigger the triacs to their conductive states.
