In a lightweight coffin for burials and cremations, a blank of heavily corrugated board is used in each case for the base container (B) and for the lid (A), laminated and bonded against the wet, and with stiffening elements. The base container (B) folded from a blank is equipped with (wooden) stiffening strips (20, 21) in each case under the longitudinal edges of the base and preferably within the upper longitudinal edges of the wall and, if appropriate, also the transverse edges of the wall, i.e. in a frame configuration, and the lid folded from a blank is provided with a strengthening coupling (6, 7, 8) which is used preferably for inserting a (wooden) stiffening frame (19), and has on the edge a further (wooden) stiffening frame for attachment on the corresponding frame of the base container, preferably with rear gripping strips. This results in an easy-to-carry, inexpensive and environmentally friendly coffin. <IMAGE> |
