摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a latent heat storage apparatus having a construction capable of preventing the deformation of a vessel, by a method wherein a concrete member, having a poor wettability at least one the surface with which a heat storage material comes in contact directly, is inserted in the vessel. CONSTITUTION:In case an interior heat storage material 11 is repeatedly solidified and melted in a very low gravity atmosphere such as space atmosphere, etc., when the heat storage material 11 in molten state is derived of heat and solidified, two cavities 16 due to the reduction in the volume of the heat storage material 11 are formed facing each other across a partition 21 as the inside space of a vessel 12 is divided into two compartments by the partition 21. Since the partition 21 has a poor wettability against the heat storage material 11, narrow clearances 22 are formed between the surfaces of the partition and the heat storage material. As a result, when heat is applied again by a heat carrier to the vessel 12 in which the heat storage material 11 is solidified, even if heat is applied from any direction, the stress caused by the expansion of volume due to the phase change of the heat storage material can be markedly reduced.
