1417940 Manufacture of double glazing units FLACHGLAS AG DELOG-DETAG 8 Aug 1974 [4 Sept 1973] 34962/74 Heading C1M In the manufacture of a double glazing unit 1 comprising two glass panes and a profiled distance piece to be bonded together by a high duty adhesive, two angle presses 4, 5 are used to press opposed sides of the unit 1, the presses being positioned on either side of an operating station 6, with a single, movable, adhesive supply unit 26, a supply conveyer 2 to supply units 1 to press 4 and a discharge conveyer 3 to remove the bonded units 1, the conveyers 2, 3 being side-by-side and the two presses 4, 5 being connected in the working sequence 8 by an intermediate conveying system 7 comprising a transverse conveyer 9, an unloading device 10 for the press 4 and a loading device 11 for the second press 5. The conveyer 3 comprises an unloading device 13 and conveyer 12. The unloading devices 10, 13 and the transverse conveyer 9 are movable in the directions of the double arrows and each device, including the loading device 11, may consist of tables, in the order of work sequence, 16, 20, 18 and 14 provided with transporter belts 17, 21, 19 and 15. The presses 4, 5 are preferably offset slightly, as shown, and the pressing faces 22 of press 4 grip the two sides 24, 25 of the unit 1 and the faces of the press 5 grip the sides 27, 28 to complete the unit. Automation of the transporter belts, the conveyers and the presses may be introduced as required, but hand operation is also suitable. The invention obviates the use of two teams of operators and two adhesive supply units. |
