<p>1486339 Buckles ALLIED CHEMICAL CORP 30 Dec 1974 [12 Feb 1974 (2) 16 Sept 1974] 56042/74 Heading E2A The housing of a latching tongue-type seatbelt buckle is made up of three die-stamped metal plates 24, of which the lower plate 32, and preferably also the top plate, has an aperture 34 to accommodate the sliding latchpawl 43 and the release button 44 respectively, and the middle plate 26 has, in addition, a gap 28, 30 to allow passage of the tongue. Insertion of the belt-tongue closes a switch arm (50) against a contact (52), Fig. 1, (not shown). The housing may include lateral guides for the tongue Fig. 6 (not shown). The central plate may be moulded and there may be more than three plates, Figs. 8-11 (not shown).</p> |
