<p>An electric light fitting for multiple lamps has a circular bowl (2) with three radial slots (4) to receive the square ends (6) of the arms (5) which carry the individual light bulbs. The current is supplied to metal discs (9, 13) separated by a disc (11) of insulating material (11). The discs (9, 13) have circumferential grooves (10, 14) to receive the prongs (22) of the connectors in the arms (5). The prongs of the connectors possess a degree of elasticity so that they are deflected towards each other when pushed into the grooves (10, 14) and so make a good electrical connection. This design of fitting eliminates the complicated wiring which is usually found with this type of fitting.</p> |
