Acoustic absorption and insulation modules - form acoustic screen using concave modules having sound insulating skin and absorbent material

The acoustic module (1) has a phonic insulating skin (2) and an acoustical absorbant material (3). The skin (2) receives sound waves from a source (5), sound wave is reflected twice from the insulating skin (2) whilst crossing the acoustic material (3) four times before leaving the module considerably attenuated. The surface of the phonic insulating skin may be of right angled section, part of a parabola or a semicircle. A number of modules (1) may be used to cover a channel (5) with a discontinuous acoustic screen. A screen is formed from two series of modules (1) whose tranvenal section is approximately parabolic. They are arranged in staggered rows so that all the sound waves emitted from the channel (5) are trapped by the modules.
