<p>10-Hydroxy ajmalicine aminoethyl esters (I) and their salts with mineral and organic acids are new (where R1 & R2 are alkyl or together with the N atom form a morpholinyl, piperdinyl, piperazinyl or pyrrolidinyl ring). Cpds. (I) are used as therapeutic agents. A typical product is the dimethylamino ethyl ester of 10-hydroxy ajmalicine, the hydrochloride of which melts at 311-312 degrees C with decomp.. In an example this was prepared from 10g 10-hydroxy ajmalicininc acid and 4.23g dimethylamino chloroethane hydrochloride in isopropanol containing potassium carbonate. The yield of hydrochloride was 9.2g.</p> |
