An electrical connector has a pin insertable into holes in a mounting plate. The holes have wide tolerance limits for press fit pin insertion. The pin press fit section (18) has a curved or bent, C-shaped cross-section (28) with smooth, continuous inner and outer curved surfaces. Ends of its cross-section are after insertion into a hole in the mounting plate-open, separate and movable. The dimensions and material of this section (18) are such that an appreciable part of it is plastically deformed during insertion into a hole. |
