<p>Novel pigment compsns. comprise (A) dyestuff salts derived from triphenylmethane of formula (I) (the O bridge is not present) and/or dyestuff salts derived from xanthene of formula (II) (I; the O bridge is present) and (B) a varnish based on resins and oils (where R are each H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, nitrile, carbamoyl, nitro, amino, alkylamino, phenylamino, acylamino, opt. substd. phenyl and/or sulphonamido, or two R gps. in the o-posn. represent a condensed phenyl ring; R1 are each H, halogene, Me or Et and R1 with an R radical may form a direct link; R2 is H, halogen, amino, phenylamino or naphthylamino in which the rings may be substd. by one or two radicals as given by R; R3 are each H, Me or Et; X is H, halogen or -SO3- or -COO-; Z is an anion; n is 0 or 1 and is 0 when X is an anion, and is 1 when X is H or halogen). (I) and (II) are used in intaglio engraving and printing of bookds and journals because the compsns. are easily dispersed in all corresponding printing varnishes. The prints obtd. have high tinctorial power and the printing pastes are storage stable. The compsns. may be used as "flushing" pastes.</p> |
