The corrosion resistant copper alloys for use as tubes for the brake system of motor cars, have the compsn. 4-25% Ni, 2-5% Mn, 0.5-3.2% Cr, balance Cu, and 4-6% Ni, 4-6% Al, 0.5-1.5% Cr, 2-4% Mn, balance Cu. The alloys are homogenized at 800-900 degrees C and quenched in water or air. The tubes produced from these alloys are resistance to stress corrosion cracking, and have a high strength. Used for lining the brake system of motor cars and similar vehicles.
