The pneumatic suspension of the container lorry, or similar vehicle has its control piston displaced by a manual control lever so that the suspension is set high or low, or set to operate normally. This allows simple load transfer without increasing the complexity of the suspension. The control lever operates on the suspension via a cam edge (51), with the lever moving through a simple gate, with orthogonal modes of movement.
