摘要 |
The terminal includes an electrically conductive portion having a surface for contacting the tissue electrolyte. This surface is surrounded with an inert non-absorbable porous material having interconnected and continuous pores with a dia. 10 - 500 mu. This permits the ingress of blood capillaries and intermeshing with the tissue without the formation of a fibrous tissue interface. Electrolytes in the tissue can thus come in contact with the electrically conductive portion of the terminal. For implanting in living human or animal tissue, as a component of e.g. a heart pace maker etc.. The living tissue does not build up a defensive fibrosis around the terminal which would insulate and isolate it from the vascularized tissue. |
