Plastics pipe joint - has ends of pipes deformed thermally into double walled flanges held by bolted metallic collars to prevent fluid contacting metallic parts

Plastics pipe joint is made by heating the adjacent pipe ends to compress them and form double-walled radial flanges, which are held together by placing metallic collars on opposite faces of hte flanges and bolting the collars together. An auxiliary plastics seal can be placed at the interface of the flanges. Pipe joint which is cheap to produce in situ prevents fluid carried by the pipeline from coming into direct contact with the metallic parts of the joint.
