The coaxial high frequency resistor finds particular application as end resistor for high power, high frequency lines. Its connector fitting has a high frequency conductive heat barrier (5) which connects the resistor body and the inner conductor terminal. Preferably an inner conductor section has a low thermal conductivity. The heat barrier may be a tubular or cylindrical element of ceramics with low thermal conductivity and metallised surface. The design protects the dielectric of the coaxial cable to soften under the conduction of heat from the end resistor heat losses.
