PURPOSE:To determine the density and degree of deterioration of a developing agent by irradiating toner which adheres on the surface of a photo-sensitive body with light after the development, measuring an electric potential of the portion of the photo-sensitive body surface after the development and irradiation, and detecting the amount of toner which adheres on the body from the difference of the potential.
