The process controls the quantity of flocculation agent used in water treatment. The quantity producing the greatest difference in turbidity during the flake formation phase is used as the datum quantity. There can be a pump extracting a set proportion from a current of raw water and delivering into a piping system. This contains a storage tank for the flocculation agent with a metering device dispensing the latter into the system under the action of a central unit, a mixing track a turbidity measuring unit and a discharge section.
