Contact design for tuner keys in HF oscillator circuits - has hardened and polished steel balls as contact elements under pressure of sprung strips

The contact system is intended for tuner keys in high frequency oscillating circuits and for coaxial high frequency lines. It consists of sprung strips in a tuli-shaped configuration, providing punctiform contacts. The strips press contact elements (3) against a contact track. The contact elements are formed by hardened and polished steel balls. Preferably the balls are coated with a hard gold layer. One ball may be pressed into an individual strip or it may be soldered into the same. The design combined mechanical precision with a low-loss exactly reproducible electric contacts between the stationary and the moving parts. It also affords application in very wide temp. range.
