A protective garment for a patient undergoing an examination of the large intestine, using an endoscope, is like a pair of tights. The garment can be made of rubber, or alternatively of plastics, linen or paper based material. The seat portion incorporates a central opening for insertion of the endoscope. The waist size is 60 cm and the waist is fitted with a suitable belt. The leg length is 140 cm, and 25 cm wide at the top and 20 cm wide at the ankle. The length of foot is 45 cm and the diameter of the hole is 10 cm.
