<p>The malfunction display unit consists of a transparent drum driven by an electric motor, switches which monitoring working conditions being fitted inside the drum. Each switch has a projecting push rod held by a spring in a rest position and completing a circuit for the monitored condition. When a malfunction occurs the circuit is broken and the push rod is pressed outwards by the spring. The outwards movement of the push rod completes a second circuit causing the electric motor to rotate the drum. The drum has a cam fitted to its inner surface which strikes the projecting push rod, pressing it inwards and causing the motor to stop. A display lamp indicates which switch has opened and gives an appropriate remedy suggestion.</p> |
