The rivet or screw connection between two metal plates lies directly or indirectly in contact with each other, with their parallel counterposed directions subjected to traction, pressure or thrust. This strip has the same rigidity as and greater thickness than one of the sheets or plates to be connected. The rivets or screws have a shearing force which is greater than the strength of the plates. With a plate individual thickness of up to 1 mm the strip is 2 1/2 times as thick as a plate, and with A thickness of plate of 1 mm and more the metal strip is at least twice as thick as a plate.
