A data processing system is based upon an eight bit microprocessor chip operating together with read-only memory and read-write memory. The microprocessor chip operates with a number of on-chip registers and a section of read-write memory assigned as a stack register system. The register control is provided by an address logic unit that is a 16-bit parallel increment-decrement circuit. This allows the formation of addresses in conjunction with an internal memory, multiplexers and address buffer.
