1435395 Flameretardant compositions BORG-WARNER Ltd 30 Oct 1973 50473/73 Heading C3P A flame retardant composition comprises a latex containing a copolymer derived from 15- 45% styrene, 25% to 50% butadiene, 25% to 40% vinylidene chloride and 0À5% to 10% of a carboxylic acid, and a flame retardant additive. In examples the carboxylic acid is itaconic acid and the flame retardant additive is ammonium bromide, tris(dibromopropyl) phosphate or antimony oxide. The compositions also contain whiting, titanium dioxide, starch and a surfactant. They are used for coating textiles, particularly carpets. |
