<p>Solar energy heater is used industrially or domestically for providing hot water for heating and sanitation. It comprises an outer case made from a polyurethane foam shell in a moulded fibre glass covering, closed at the top by two panes of lead-free glass which retain between them a layer of air. The heat receiver, made from sheet steel, which is connected to the heat exchanger, is enclosed within the case. A polished metal reflector is placed between the lower surface of the receiver and the base of the outer case. Contact between the outer case, receiver and reflector is kept to a minimum. The internal design of the receiver is such that the liq. is made to travel a large distance through, the receiver, thus maximising the heat energy absorbed. The limited contact between the receiver and the outer casae minimises the heat loss by conduction. The efficiency of the heater is twice as good as that of a traditional heater. It allows the prodn. of very high temps. with an efficiency of >50%. It can be used in cold but sunny areas.</p> |
