<p>1477046 Photographic materials ENERGY CONVERSION DEVICES Inc 30 Aug 1974 [26 Sept 1973] 38046/74 Heading G2C A photo-sensitive material comprises a selfsupporting or supported layer of tellurium tetrahalide in which the halide is Cl and/or Br. The halide may be applied in a solvent to a support and imagewise exposed whilst wet to U.V. to give a print-out image of Te. Alternatively, the halide may be dispersed in a binder and optionally coated on a support and imagewise exposed, after drying, to U.V. or visible light and developed by heating either simultaneously or subsequently to produce a Te image. A sensitizer such as a quinone, furil, 1-phenyl-1,2-propanedione, 1,1' dibenzoyl ferrocene, benzo- or acetophenone, rinhydrin or 1,5-diphenyl-1,3,5-pentanetrione may be added to the material specified halides are ToCl 4 , TeCl 2 Br 2 , TeCl 3 Br, TeClBr 3 and TeBr 4 , not for the wet process. The image may be fixed by washing a chloroform/toluene solution saturated with organic amines which removes any sensitizer and inactivates the remaining tetrahalide.</p> |
